Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Snack & Weave Recipes

Creamy Whipped Brie with Cranberry Salsa
8-10 servings

Whipped Brie
3/4 pound brie cheese, room temperature
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 t. black pepper
1 t. finely grated lemon jest

Salsa
2 cups fresh cranberries
3 green onions, finely chopped - just the white part
1/2 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced fine
1/4 cup plus 2 T. sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 1/2 T. lemon juice
1 T. peeled and finely minced fresh gingerroot

Assorted Crackers
To Prepare BrieRemove rind from brie and put the cheese into a food processor with the cream cheese, pepper and lemon zest. Process until very smooth. Transfer to serving dish. Cover and refrigerate. This can be done 24 hours in advance. Bring to to room temperature 1 hour before serving. Serve with crackers and salsa on the side.
To Prepare Salsa
Wash and sort cranberries. Pulse in the bowl of a food processor until finely chopped. Add chopped green onions, jalapeno, sugar, salt, lemon juice and ginger. Pulse to mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Stir occasionally.
