Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Final Read on Guidelines

We will be voting to approve the following guidelines at the March 5th meeting. Since we have spent so much time on them already, (when we could have been weaving!) we won't be taking time to re-read them on the 5th. So, we appreciate your taking time to read them now.

Silver Creek Basket Guild Guidelines


The Silver Creek Basket Guild shall be a non-profit organization.

The purpose of the organization is to provide a means for adults to gather together to share experiences and techniques of weaving and to assist in preserving the art of basketry. Each member shall share responsibility for contributing to Guild's activities.

The Guild will meet the first Thursday of the month. There will be no meeting in July or August.

Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age and older who is interested in perpetuating the art of basketry.

Annual dues and fees will be established by the Guild.
Dues will cover the period of September 1st through August 31st.
Late renewals will be assessed a late fee of $5 after November 15th.
New members are welcome at any time.
Membership fees for new members after February 1st will be half the annual dues.

A membership roster will be provided annually.

Newsletters will be provided at least quarterly.

The Board of Directors shall consist of five persons: president, vice-president, recording secretary, corresponding secretary, and treasurer.
Duties of the Board shall consist of:
1. Preside at monthly meetings. Prepare agenda and announcements.
2. Arrange location and logistics of monthly meetings and events.
3. Register new members and maintain a membership list.
4. Arrange for committees as needed.
5. Assist in coordinating monthly meeting activities.
6. Assist with maintaining records and newsletter.
7. Receive all revenues and pay all authorized bills.
8. Carry on correspondence for the Guild.

Board members shall serve a two-year term.
Terms for new board members begins in September.
Board members will fill vacancies to complete the term.
Nominations for new board members shall occur in June.
A majority vote by Guild members present at the June meeting shall elect.
Acceptance of guidelines will be by majority vote of members present at the meeting following the changes.
