Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

March Materials List

Dawn will be leading the Small Christi basket in March.
She will be ordering wooden bases for the basket on February 13th. She expects the bases to run around $3.00.

If you would like Dawn to purchase a base for you, check your membership list for her email or phone number and CONTACT HER NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH.




Materials Needed for Small Christi

3 1/2" grooved wooden base
1/4" flat or flat oval for spokes ( colored if you like)
1/4" flat for rim row
11/64" flat oval for weaver
#0 round reed--- to twine around bottom
#1 or #2 round reed ( colored to match stakes, if you like) to triple twine around top and to use for rim
3/8" flat oval for rim
narrow cane for lasher ( need 4 times the basket circumference)

To PREPARE
Cut 19 spokes at 5" from the 1/4" flat or flat oval
