Minutes of Dec.1st 2011 guild meeting;
Marty opened meeting at 6:03 pm. 12 members in attendance. We all admired lots of the finished baskets from the all day weave last month. There was discussion of a date for the spring weave and May 19th was decided upon. Marty and Judy both had baskets that would be suitable but no final decision was reached at this time. It was decided that we should meet at 6:00 P.M. until further notice. We want to see if we can’t get more work done if we meet earlier.
Judy has agreed to lead the January meeting with a basket called “Flashdance”. It is a footed basket and you’ll each need to let Judy know if you want a base and whether or not you want the footed one. Picture which I will try to send along with this does not show the footed base and my artistic efforts are rotten. However, the footed base looks like the “cat’s head”. If you do not want the footed base, you will still need to let Judy know so that she can order you a plain base. Most of us have chosen to skip the handle shown and leave basket handle less. Judy offered to bring colored reed in red or green.
Sue had pictures taken at the all day weave which I have tried to send to Darleen to go on the blog. You’ll have to check that to see if I was successful in sending those on to her. Judy gave each of us a new pair of scissors. Many thanx for that. Meeting was adjourned at 6:21 and we all enjoyed the wonderful offering for our “pot luck” and then got to work on our Christmas Bell Gift Basket with Jo Ann leading. Most finished them. Hope you all have a lovely holiday and we’ll see you all back in January.
