Guild minutes feb. 2, 2012
Since Marty was unavailable this eve and we do not seem to have a VP, Sue chaired the meeting and opened at 6:05 pm. Discussion was held re choosing a VP and it was stated that Marty was supposed to appoint someone??? We do need to get this taken care of for this kind of situation. The treasurer reported a balance of $508.92. Guild paid for the patterns we will use for “Adella”. It was decided that our March meeting will be a “UFO” ( unfinished object) so please bring something to work on. We had previously stated that Marty and Dawn would be leading us in March and April but many of our “snobirds” want to make that double walled basket so we moved it to April and May which is why we have to have a UFO in March. Dawn will bring us the patterns next month. If you want to make this basket, you will need to contact Dawn to order the base. (cost $6-8.00) If you order the base, you will need to pay Dawn and pick it up. She does NOT want to be stuck with extra bases.
Dawn made a motion to make Darleen an honorary Guild member as she does so much for us. All approved.
The All Day Weave is still scheduled for May 19th. It will be at the Ripon Library starting at 9.am. We decided to do the large square basket that Jo Ann brought last month with the zigzag pattern and leather handles. More about that when Jo Ann gets back from Gulf shores.
Krista had made a similar basket for “show and tell” that had a solid colored base, Leather handles, and heavy color on the sides. Sue brought a potato basket, an onion basket, and a garlic basket to show.
We were only 9 in attendance. Meeting adjourned at 6:22 and we all got started on our “Adella” basket with Sue A. leading.
