You'll need to bring: either 1/4" FO or 7MM FO for spokes (Cut 56 @ 10" for the 1/4" or 44 @ 10" for the 7MM (*see below for update from Marty)
11/64" FF for weavers and some #2 RR for weavers.
Also in #2 RR dye about 14 yds of color A... about 10 yds of color B... and about 10 yds of color C. Dawn has the bases.
Note from Marty.... Dawn and I got together to recreate this basket and think it might make it a LOT easier to weave with fewer spokes. I'm not a pro with this but I think if you reduce the number of spokes on each straight side by 2 it will work out right. That means that you will need 52 instead of 56. I don't think that will change the weave pattern, but I didn't actually try it. From those of you who weave more than I do, would you know if that would be the correct amount to reduce with a 3-rod wale?
It is a bit of change weaving from the inside of the basket rather than the outside but just keep working at it. Once you get to the top and start to weave the "rim", weave 3 rows then wet your stakes, secure the stakes to the side of the basket, gently upsett them and let them take the form of the outside of the basket. Take a break, you deserve it! I found it easier to work with them after doing that.
Look forward to seeing everyone at the April meeting on the SECOND Thursday, April 12th.
