March 15 Guild Minutes

Sue called our meting to order at 6:00.

Secretary Report:  No additions or corrections to February's Minutes

Old Business:  Open Weave organized by Ruth set for 9:00 am, March 28, at the Ripon Library.  Bring a project you want to work on or are having difficulty with and hopefully someone can give some help. You are on your own for lunch.

The Spring Weave is set for April 25 also at the Ripon Library starting at 9:00.  It will be the Sock Basket, a very sturdy basket with 1/2" flat oval for the spokes.  A former member of the guild gave our group a bunch of reed to use for free.  We will use some of it for this basket.

For the Sock Basket you will need to supply 1/2" Flat Oval about 2/3 of a pound, #3 Round Reed, 1/4" Flat Oval for lasher, #5 Round Reed for the outer rim.  If you have 5/8" Flat Oval you will need a piece about 48" long, not sure if there will be enough of that for everyone.

New Business:  Sharon has volunteered to lead the May basket which will be the Button Basket.  There will be a little hand sewing needed for this project.  You will have to supply your own little "circle puffs" to place under each button.  More info on that next month.  I believe that June is still open.

Dawn brought along several of her Mystery Baskets to show to members.  This will be April's project, very free-form and individual looking.  Looks like a fun basket to make!

We'd like to thank Charlotte for driving along with Karen to keep her company.  Charlotte, you can always change your mind and join our group.

Dawn made a motion to adjourn.  Krista seconded the motion.
