15 June Guild Minutes

Sue called the meeting to order at 6:03.

Secretary's Report - No additions or corrections

Old Business - We had a discussion about donating market baskets to Old World Wisconsin.  Dawn has been our contact person for this project.  She said that the basket will need to be large enough to hold a tablet  maybe 9" x 12".  Dawn will clear up any questions concerning the size and stain color they would prefer.  The baskets should be rather plain, no colored reed or fancy handles.  We might do this as a monthly project.

Diane Gleixner will be leading our Saturday Weave set for October 10 from 9:00 - 3:30 at the church.  We voted on the basket choices for the day.  The winners were: The Ridge Weave Carrier, Arctic Mist and the Teacher's Tote Basket.  You will need to have a check dated for October 10, 2015, made out to Diane Gleixner for the amount of your choice.  You need to have this to Krista by September 3, so that Diane can get the kits put together.

Marlene will be leading the September project, the Potato Masher Basket.  The materials needed are:  1/2" flat for stakes (approximately 18" x 22")
#2 round reed for securing the base or for weaving
The side weaving can be done with whatever you prefer to weave with 1/4" flat oval or smaller.  You can use up your scraps on this basket!
Measurements will depend on the size of your masher.

New Business - We held our elections for the next 2-year term.
The results were:  President - Krista
Vice President - Sue and Dawn
Treasurer - Patti
Secretary - Geri  and Denise
Bloggers - Sara and Darleen

Upcoming projects are:  for October, the "September Basket" led by Sharon, and for November, the "Cherokee Wheels Basket" led by JoAnn.

Sharon made a motion to adjourn, Judy seconded the motion.
