June 6, 2019 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Krista, President @ 6:00 p.m.
14 members present and two guests

You all should have received an email from Judy inviting you to her home. Here is a snippet of her email: "dipping party" for our totes with leather straps will be on June 22 from 1-3 p.m....weather permitting. The plan is to dip in stain outside and hang to dry for a while. If it is raining we'll have to find another day. Please bring $2.00 to cover the cost of the stain and a garbage bag to carry your basket home in. Please check your emails for additional information and address.

In September we will weave a scrap basket from scraps from everyone's inventory. Bring a basket that you've started with a completed base. Also, bring reed/scraps to share. These will be very creative, colorful, and fun.

In October we will weave the Antique Storage basket, compliments of Suzanne Moore's NC Basket Works. Please go to www.ncbasketworks.com to print off your pattern and supply list. Jacket covers will be handed out at the next meeting.

Ellie Lida will be our instructor for our annual Potluck Fall Weave, two dates back-to-back are scheduled. On Friday, October 18, the small cat-head bowl is planned and on Saturday, October 19, two different baskets are available. One is $90 and the other is $65 woven with space-dyed fall colors or gray. Watch for an email from Krista regarding your choice of reed color and please respond to her immediately.

Discussion for future potlucks and all day weaves was agreed that we go green. This will not only help save the environment, but will save our guild a sum of money. Please bring your own table setting for potlucks. Keep at least one setting in your vehicle in a shopping bag so you do not forget. Dawn donated some plastic plates that we can hand out. Also, we will now have sign up sheets for set-up, clean-up, and food on these occasions.

Meeting adjourned @ 6:30 p.m.
