September 3, 2020 Meeting Minutes

Denise called the September meeting to order at 6:10 p.m.
There were 11 members present.
June minutes were approved by Marty & Ann.
Annual dues of $25 were collected at this meeting. Once all dues have been paid, I will update everyone with a new membership listing. As a courtesy to attendees, please refrain from having side conversations during our meetings.

The August Spring Weave was a great success. The group learned some fantastic weaving techniques from Becky Bechtel from Bright Expectations. Beautiful baskets!

September 3 - Ann & JoAnn taught us how to rim the Gretchen Border/Rim on a round basket. Everyone caught on easily and I can't wait for next month's Show & Tell!! Check out this YouTube video: Taming the Wretched Gretchen by Beverly Ashton Vickers. You may also email her at BKA916@gmail.com if you have any questions.

The following is the remainder of 2020's meeting weaves:

October 1 - Split Stitch Basket led by Krista.

October 24, Saturday Weave @ the church from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - SELF TEACH - Bag lunch. You can bring anything to weave. It will be a fun day that we can physically learn from one another.

November 5 - Santa's Boot Basket - Marty will lead. This pattern was sent to your email.

December 3 - Potluck or bag lunch? - Peggy will teach how to make braided leather handles. More information to come regarding supplies.

All meetings for 2021 are open for volunteers and ideas. It was discussed to have our winter meetings on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The months are for January thru March. This will enable you to drive to and from in the daylight. We will vote at our next meeting.

When you are furnishing patterns, please add two, one for our minutes book and one for our library.

A motion was made by JoAnn to adjourn and seconded by Ruth @ 6:34 p.m.

Show & Tell was presented by Marty, JoAnn, Krista, and Karen. As always, impeccable work!

Happy weaving!
