The membership is open to experienced basket weavers

November 5, 2021 Meeting Minutes

Denise called the November meeting to order at 6:23 p.m. while patiently waiting for our secretary to arrive.
There were 9 members present.
Correction to October minutes: Peggy has custody of the Guild's library.

The October 24, Saturday Weave was a lot of fun. Everyone wove the Potato Basket and they all looked great. We're all looking forward to seeing everyone's finished project. It was nice to brown bag it as everyone was able to eat what they liked and how much.

At our November meeting we all made at least one Boot Basket. They are adorable. Thank you Marty for leading this weave.

December 3 - Bring an appetizer to share and your own table service - Peggy will teach how to make braided leather handles. No supplies are needed, except a scissors. Thank you Peggy!

** We will also revisit voting on a committee to help with research and booking outside instructors. Please consider volunteering to alleviate this away from our president.

January 7 - Golden Harvest Basket (large or medium sizes) with a Gretchen rim - Krista needed your orders for the bases at the November meeting.

February 4 - Sampler Tote - JoAnn will talk about ordering the leather handles in December.

March 4 - Finish up on the last two months' baskets.

April 1 - TV Basket - Denise - contact Geri for the base(s), they are $12 each unstained pine. Email Geri NOW for your order.

MAY 6 - OPEN

June 3 - lashing techniques

Denise has contacted Mark for a spring weave, hopefully more information at our next meeting.

When you are furnishing patterns, please add two, one for our minutes book (Geri) and one for our library (Peggy).

A motion was made by Ann to adjourn our meeting and seconded by Dawn @ 6:43 p.m. Motion approved.

Just a reminder that in the odd years we vote for officers. Officers hold their elected positions for two years...and apparently there is no term limits, but one can decline the nomination.

Happy weaving and be safe!
