MINUTES FROM THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS
SNACK AND WEAVE
December 6, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 as 11 members filled their plates with tempting treats.
Our donations of baskets for the church's October chili supper
was discussed. The church likes the baskets but we found out
that 4 baskets this year were not sold. Members felt that having
the church to use as a meeting place was a great asset to our guild
and decided in addition to our basket donation we should give
the church a monetary donation. Sharon made a motion to donate
$50 to Messiah Lutheran Church. Marlene 2nd the motion.
The motion passed.
Darleen mentioned that the FDL 4-H Agent had contacted her
about teaching basket making to club members during Day of
Learning in February of 2008. After much discussion it was decided
we would need more time than allowed and a high ratio of guild
members to students to do a decent job of teaching. We decided to
"think about it" for February of 2009. ( but not too hard!)
Several members were concerned about our regular meeting being
so close to New Year's Day on January 3rd. A suggestion was made
to change the meeting to January 10th. Judy is able to teach the class
on either the 3rd or the 10th. It was decided that Darleen would do an
email survey to see if the 10th is agreeable for all members.
Judy will order wooden bases for all of us. Please watch your email
for the materials list.
The business portion of the meeting ended as we continued to eat!
Several members completed the little booties that JoAnn taught and
many members worked on last minute gifts. A Big Thank You to JoAnn
for leading the class. I do have a copy of the pattern if you were not
able to make the meeting.
