Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Worm Family Christmas Beverages



Thought I would share the beverage recipes
my family enjoy during the holidays.



Hot Buttered Rum ( make mix up to 2 weeks in advance)

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup butter
3 cups vanilla ice cream, softened

Rum Extract or Rum (I use Captain Morgan Spiced Rum)
Boiling Water
Nutmeg

In 2 Quart saucepan combine granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter.
Melt over low heat, stir occasionally, until butter is melted and sugar is
dissolved (6-8 minutes). In large mixer bowl, combine cooked sugar
mixture with ice cream; beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often,
until smooth.

Store in refrigerator up to two weeks.

To Prepare One Serving: Fill mug with:
1/4 cup butter rum mix,
1 ounce rum or 1/4 tsp. rum extract
3/4 cup boiling water
sprinkle with nutmeg if desired


Wassil

1 quart apple cider
1 t. allspice
1/2 t. ground cloves
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup orange juice
2 T. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 tart medium apples, thinly sliced

Mix all together in large pan. Simmer
30 minutes or so. Strain through cheesecloth.
Makes 8-9 1/2 cup servings.
