Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

February Materials List

Sara will be leading the STAR WASTE BASKET in February. Sara described the basket as being somewhat large, about 10" to 12" high, so bring enough 11/64th flat oval for the weavers!

Material list for Star Waste Basket:

1/4" FF dyed AND natural for spokes
11/64th" FO for weavers
#2 RR for twining. About 6 feet
5/8" FO for rim
10" hoop for rim (optional)
5/8 " or 3/4" smoked for one round ( approximately about 2' long or so)
narrow seagrass for decorative twining
seagrass for rim
11/64" FF for lashing

To Prepare:
From 1/4" FF NATURAL, cut 9 spokes 40" long
From 1/4" FF DYED, cut 12 spokes 40" long
Mark spokes on the wrong side.
