Marlene reported a treasury balance of $386.26.
Since all members had read the January 8th minutes, it was suggested to wave the reading of the minutes. Members present agreed.
Dawn had Easter baskets to Show and Share. Other members showed baskets they were currently working on.
OLD BUSINESS
Members reviewed changes to the guidelines. It was suggested that meetings in January through March be changed to Saturday rather than Thursday nights. Although all members agreed it was difficult to go out nights in the cold winter weather, many members expressed concerns that there would be too many conflicts for members to attend regular Saturday meetings. So, for now, the guild’s guidelines will keep the meetings on Thursday nights.
Additional changes were made to the number of officers, filling officer vacancies and when guideline voting would occur. The final vote on the guidelines will occur at the March 5th meeting. The revised guidelines will be emailed or mailed to all members and posted on the blog. Please read the guidelines before the March meeting as we will voting on them without taking time to reread them again at the meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Examples of the Small Christi.
Dawn showed an example of the Small Christi she will lead in March. She will be ordering the bases with a cost of approximately $3.00 per base. Members need to contact Dawn by February 12th to order a base.
Darleen reported the guild has a new e-mail address at silvercreekbasketguild@gmail.com. In the hopes of attracting new members, the new e-mail address and guild information will be posted on various basket weaving web sites. Darleen said she has already received several confirmations that we will be added to their listings.
Darleen mentioned Basket Fest was moved to West Bend and is the first weekend in May. Members discussed the excessive registration cost of classes at the weekend. More information can be found at Lake County Basket Guild.
