The membership is open to experienced basket weavers

Still waiting for a replacement...

I just wanted to remind everyone that when my term was up in the Spring of 2009 and no other member wanted to take over the blog I said I would do it for awhile, until someone else expressed an interest.

Well, that year went by quickly and I would really like to teach one person or several people how manage our guild's blog. When I started doing this in 2007, I envisioned the blog would not only be a place to share important guild information but that many members would be posting and sharing tidbits that they found. A couple people have posted once in awhile and I think they would agree that it is not that hard to do (and they both did it without a lesson, I just emailing them a few steps!)

I am willing to make house calls to give a few short lessons. I think learning on your own computer would be best as I use an iMac which is just a little bit different from a PC. In fact, I used to use Safari as my web browser and there were some slight changes in my Blogger window when I switched to Firefox. I know many of you probably use Internet Explorer to "surf" the web and that is no problem, we can figure it out. It just isn't that hard and Blogger has a nice help section.

What do you have to do? Well, the blog is done in a template and managing it is just a matter of filling in the sections. I do a lot of 'copy and paste' work to make the posts. For example a few minutes ago, all I did was copy and paste Sara's emailed minutes into the posting window and click 'publish'. To include photos, I drag photos off the internet, from your emails or my own iPhoto albums and then upload them to Blogger from my desktop. Probably the feature of Blogger I use the most is the 'Post Tool Window' which contains the Spell Check! ( spelling has never been one of my stronger attributes)

B
logging is not difficult, it is just a matter of 'clicking around' a bit. Weaving with Silver Creek was the first blog I started but since then I also started 3 others; one for our 4-H Club, a family blog (Where my family members, scattered across the country, share photos and stories about what is going on in their lives. Both of my in-laws have mastered blogging and they are in their late 80's!) and a Book Blog that I use with an on-line book club. Once you start blogging you won't want to stop.

No, I don't know how to "tweet" yet and I have no interest in learning! I am not known for being concise, there is no way I could say all I wanted to in just 140 characters.
