Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Minutes June 3, 2010

The executive board met before the regular meeting to discuss several concerns.
It was decided:

* Non members will pay $10 for an all day weave by a member as leader. If the weave is led by a paid teacher, the fee will be pro-rated according to # of students and cost to the guild.

*Member leaders should be paid a fee of $10 per student with a minimum of $100 for the class as the leader will be putting in their time teaching, helping and frequently will be bringing patterns and/or some supplies.

* The guild will pay for purchased patterns as this is in keeping with what other guilds do.

Pat called regular meeting to order at 6:05.

Everyone has had minutes by e-mail or snail.

Ann reports $537.90 in the treasury.

No old business.

Under new business

*The board reported their discussions and the members agreed to their decisions.

*Tracy reminded everyone that Mary Ann N. is downsizing and has supplies at a 50% savings.  Mary Ann's phone number was in the emailed minutes. If you no longer have the number contact Tracy or another guild officer to get it again. Mary Ann will tell you when to come and how to reach her.

*Dawn reminded us that Darleen is still looking for help with the blog.  Sara said she would consider it if Darleen thinks she can teach an old dog a few new tricks.  They’ll be in touch.

*Pat showed us some basket hanging racks made by her clever husband at a greatly reduced price.  They come in two sizes and can be stained or natural. (your choice)  Call Pat if you are in the market for one.

17 members in attendance for our snack and weave with too much wonderful food.

Thanks to all and we will hope to see everyone back in the fall.
