January 6th Basket

Marty will be leading Thursday January 6...

1. Bring scraps of flat oval or flat from 1/4", 3/16" or 1/2" plus some colored pieces. Marty suggests not using anything over 1/2" as it would be too large for such a small basket.

FROM THE SCRAP----CUT 18 spokes at 16". BUT if you plan to weave the back using all 1/4" CUT THE SPOKES LONGER , ABOUT 20"
The examples in the photo used 6 colored spokes and 12 natural but any combination of colors and sizes will work.

Marty felt it would be fun to have a reed exchange for those who wanted to participate. Just bring spokes cut and then EXCHANGE 2 colored spokes to the person to the right.

2. You'll also need 2 long pieces of #1 round reed for twining the top of the basket.
