Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Saturday Weave


Hi all,

I apologize for the short notice. At the end of meeting it occurred to someone in the group that we hadn't selected a basket for the Saturday weave and that would only be 3 days after the November meeting. The weave is scheduled for November 5th. That wouldn't leave enough time to get supplies so the remaining group chose a pattern. I have attached the first page so everyone could see what was selected.

Judy will find out if she can get the base/handles for us but she will need a count right away for how many to purchase. The majority of the supplies are things that we all have, so it was decided that only the base/handle would be ordered, we would supply our own reed. If you are interested in weaving this basket, please let us Judy know as soon as possible so that the base/handles can be ordered. Please have this done by Tuesday at the latest to get the order placed.

Update:  Judy is having a hard time locating the base/ handle.  She might try ordering something a little different and adjust the pattern to fit the handle.  I think we should be able to "experiment" with this option.  So, Judy, if you find something that will work let us know.
