Guild Minutes January 2012

Guild minutes Jan. 2012
Marty called meeting to order at 6: 04 pm. There were 16 members in attendance. Treasurer reports a balance of $ 538.42. There was no old business. Under new business it was decided that our spring all day weave will be on May 19th. The site for this and The basket to weave will be decided upon at the February meeting. Jo Ann, Sue, Judy, and Marty all had suggestions. Jo Ann brought a lovely large square basket for show and tell that had leather handles and an interesting zigzag pattern. Marty brought a cone shaped basket that will be used to carry a wedding bouquet. Sue A. has agreed to lead the Feb. basket called “Adella”. I think she is sending me a picture of it which I will forward when received. The supplies you will need to bring follow: 3/8” flat for spokes. ( 10 spokes at 22”), 3/16 flat oval for weavers, # 2 rr, 3/8” flat dyed color of your choice for overlays ( about 3 yards), 3/16”flat for rim row, some sea grass and waxed linen for lashing. Basket measures 5” x 5” x 6.5” . Marty and Dawn will be leading in March and April on the double walled basket we have seen. Dawn and Barb made motion to adjourn and we all got to work on “Flash Dance” with Judy leading. It went quickly and most of us got close to done. It does help that we are meeting earlier. It is nice that weather has been so nice and we had a few of our “snow no go” members.
