Minutes of Guild meeting June 6th, 2013.
Marty opened meeting at 6:15. Secretaries report accepted. Treasurer reports $455.49. 11 weavers in attendance. The All Day Weave is still scheduled for July 27th at Messiah at 9;00 am. I trust you have signed up with Jo Ann if you plan on attending. She needs to know how many will be there and also which basket you choose to make with which kind of wood so that she can let our leader know what to bring for supplies.
There was some discussion about what guild wants to do when a member has a bereavement. There will be a decision to be agreed upon at our next meeting, so you need to be thinking, should we limit ourselves to only deaths of spouses or any family member? We had a nice thank you from Sharon for plant received at death of her Mom.
Slate of officers was agreed upon for next year. Sue A. will be president. Krista N. will be vice pres. Marty will be Secretary with Sara continuing to post on the blog. and Patti W. as Treasurer. We are glad to hear Sue will be back in Sept.
Judy S. had a sign up sheet for those of us who want to order reed though her auspices. If you still need reed, get in touch with her asap as she would like to put order in sometime in July before prices go up any more. She also needs to order 25 # of each size reed and does not want to order more than we have requested so she is not stuck with more than she can use.
We are in need of a leader for the September meeting so will someone please step up and get in touch with Marty T. if you can do it. We also need leaders in January and May. Ann Z. will lead in Oct. Jo Ann L. in Nov. with a sweet "Santa" basket in red with a black belt and gold buckle and white furry rim. Dec. will be a "smack and Weave" and a UFO. Feb.will be Marlene and Dawn with a potato basket, April Marty will do "Ode to Joy" which might spill over into May. and June will undoubtedly be our usual Snack and Weave and UFO. Snack and weave started right after meeting and there were several special treats. Recipes to follow:
