Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Basketmakers Tour Europe 2014

So if you have money to burn for a once in a lifetime adventure, here it is…..
Starting September 16, 2014
(Wouldn't it be fun if the whole guild could go as a group? )



Germany, Spain, and London
Proposed visits to Basketry Festivals, Museums and Classes in Germany and Spain and possibly London. Travel independently or as a group and meet up at each event for some good times, with an ID badge to help.

Here's the plan.....

Everyone is responsible for their own bookings for classes, accommodation and transport, but helpful information will be shared between us so that we get the best deals and don't miss a thing.

The events so far targeted are 

 GERMANY

 1. Dalhausen- Summer Festival rescheduled class by two French Basketmakers…16-17th September 2014 …subject to availability....Click SEE to view information about the basket making summer school Akademie Flecht Sommer 2014. 
2. Dalhausen- Visit the Basketmakers Museum
3. Lichtenfels - Visit the Korbmarkt the following weekend 20-21 Sept opening night 19th Sept. An Old Town Festival and specialist market for wicker products. Live music, flea market, performances on outdoor stages, jazz, pop, oldies,champagne, draft beer, local culinary specialties….something for every taste.

 SPAIN

4. Weaving by the Sea...24-26th and 28-30 September 2014 - 6 classes planned, available for sign up sometime after the Xmas rush
5. Visit Barcelona on the way to SALT International Basket Festival.

LONDON

7. May organize a class in London or thereabouts either before or after all these other events...mainly because I happen to have a son in London and I am traveling from Australia, so I might as well make the most of it!
