The membership is open to experienced basket weavers

Supplies for Ode to Joy & Shadow Weave

Supplies for Ode to Joy

3/4" flat - 22 pieces at 40"
1/2" flat for weavers
11/64" or 1/4" flat oval for weavers
5/8" flat oval for rim
7mm. for lashing
sea grass for rim filler
2 bushel basket handles 5" or 6"

I think you can get away with using 5/8" and cut them in 2 rather than 3 when you split the stakes.
1/2" might work also, but you will have a smaller basket by a little less than 3" in length and width, not sure how handles would fit on it though.

Shadow Weave supplies

6" round double slotted base
3/8" flat      56 stakes at 9"  (28 for inside, * 28 for outside of basket)
3/16" flat oval     56 stakes at 9"
11/64" flat oval smoked  (I used rust colored dyed reed instead)
5/8" flat oval
sea grass
10" swing handle
1 pair swing ears
optional 10 round hoop for weaving guide  (I had a pyrex bowl that worked just fine for that)

*  For these to fit you will have to trim the end that will be inserted into the base.
I gently tapered both sides of the stake end, slightly, up the sides of the stake for about 1"-1 ½".  Like a long gradual "V" but with a BLUNT END not a point!
