Sue introduced Barb Johnson, owner of the new Countryside Basketry Store located in Iola. She has a special right now on the shipping rate. $5.00 flat rate all purchases of $25.00 or more. Thank you, Barb!
Marty introduced her guest, Dawn, to the group. Always look forward to new members and seeing the look of accomplishment and joy on their faces at the completion of a basket.
Old Business - We will not be making the Finishing Touch Basket scheduled for January. This basket can be modified to add its uses. There is a correction to the monthly basket schedule. Marty will be leading her Pointy-Eared Dog's Head Basket (AKA a Cat's Head Basket) in March. A materials list was handed out to the attending members and will be posted on the blog. ( Scroll down for Pointy-Eared Dog's Head materials list) Dawn will be leading April's Mystery Basket (This is actually the name of the basket not a mystery as to what Dawn was planning on making!)
New Business - The April meeting will be changed to April 9th, the second Thursday due to Easter being the first Sunday of the month.
Members will need to choose how they wish to receive information, like meeting cancellations. Do you prefer to have it sent by email, phone call to home phone or cell phone?
Ruth has set up an Open Weave at the Ripon Library on March 28 from 9:00 till 3:30. You may bring anything you would like to weave.
Our next Saturday Weave will be held on April 25 at the Ripon Library from 9:00 to 3:30. The project will be the Sock Basket. Sign up next month for that basket.
Marlene has volunteered to lead the Potato Masher Basket in September. She has a few mashers to sell otherwise you will need to supply your own. It's so nice to have the first meeting of the year already taken care of!
I will forward information via email for sending cards to our former president and for a current member who will be undergoing surgery.
