Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

February 1, 2018 Meeting Minutes

  • January Minutes Correction- JoAnn will lead April's weave with the Spiral Basket. The Josephine Knot Basket is our Saturday weave on April 7.
  • The spiral basket we are making in April requires a 3” base and if need one please sign up for the base.
  • The Double Wall Twill Tray for March will require 9” leather handles. You can use 8” leather handles or even wooden handles. The Double Wall Twill Tray pattern includes three different sizes and three different base patterns.
  • Saturday weave on April 7 will cost $48. Deadline to sign up is at the March meeting. Minimum of four weavers. JoAnn will bring her basket to our next meeting.
  • May meeting will be led by Stephanie & Judy. Utensil Basket, perfect for picnics/camping, holds silverware and napkins. You needed to sign up for the base by February 2 with Krista.
  • June still open for basket ideas. Patti is considering teaching us how to weave pine needle baskets.
  • Karen brought her pattern book if want to look through them for ideas.
  • Patterns for upcoming basket weaves are to be handed out the month prior.
  • For the Fall Saturday weave...think about one of our own guild ladies leading or should we have someone come in and lead?
