October Minutes

Silver Creek Basket Guild Meeting Minutes October 1, 2015

Once we found a meeting place at the Ripon Public Library our meeting was called to order by Sue. It was a crazy short evening, but everyone was able to get a start.

The September Minutes were approved by Sue without changes.
Roll Call Attendance taken by Geri, Sr. Secretary.
Those present were: Sue, Denise, Barb B., Beth, Pat, Mary, Barb J., Sharon, Geri, JoAnn, Stephanie, Judy, Karen, Patti, Dawn, and Ann.
Annual Dues were due last month [$15/person], for those whom haven’t yet paid, please pay Patti on October 10 at our all-day weave, or at the November 5th meeting.

REMINDER
Saturday Weave, October 10th is at the CHURCH
8:00 a.m. set-up and weaving begins @ 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Potluck – no theme – Plates and tableware will be furnished by the Guild.
Diane G. will be leading our Saturday Weave. The baskets that were voted on are The Ridge Weave Carrier, Arctic Mist and the Teacher's Tote Basket [pictured on the guild’s blog].. Supplies are included in your initial payment, but please bring your tools and your lucky pot, I mean pot of luck…to eat. This will be fun and a great learning experience.

OLD BUSINESS
OLD WORLD WISCONSIN Donation Update  – Marlene
15-20 baskets needed – weave date TBD [To Be Determined].
7” high 9 x 12 plain closed bottom, basic light oak, baskets using up the gifted supplies in stock.
Old World is open on weekends until Memorial Day. May 14 & 15 is Nature Activities and sheep shearing.
It would be nice to have the baskets finished before May 14. Delivery has yet TBD.

NEW BUSINESS
November 5 meeting at the church.
Lead by JoAnn - Cherokee Wheels – Picture displayed on our blog. JoAnn will have bases and maple strips to purchase, other supplies will come out of the Guild box. Please just bring your tools and money for bases.

It was suggested/requested that a list of materials needed and the pattern be brought in at least a month before you lead a weave so the list can be posted to our blog. Copies for everyone to hand out at that month’s weave.

Need a basket leader for December’s meeting! Think about it please.

Geri made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Denise, Jr. Secretary, seconded the motion.
Meeting was adjourned by 6:30 p.m. as we had to check out of the library by 7:45 p.m.

For the remainder of the evening we worked on the beautiful, versatile “September” basket lead by Sharon. Thank you Sharon!
