February 6, 2020 Meeting Minutes

Welcome 2020!
The February meeting was called to order by President Denise at 6:00 p.m.
Roll was called and there were 12 members present.
A motion was made by Krista to accept the December's minutes as posted, Karen seconded the motion.

Our March basket is the Campfire Buddy led by Sharon. Contact Sharon for buying a base.

We had a discussion concerning the short amount of time to get the Split Stitch Basket ready before April. Karen made a motion to switch the April and May baskets. Krista seconded.

Our April project will now be applying a Gretchen Border to a round basket. Due to issues beyond Judy's control, she asked for someone else to help out. Ann and JoAnn volunteered to help us learn or re-learn the Gretchen border. You will need to bring a cut and tucked round basket without a handle, either #1 or #2 round reed, and 3 different color twist ties (and a LOT of PATIENCE!)

The May basket is the Split Stitch Basket led by Krista. She had a list for those who needed the base, handles and pattern. The cost of the pattern and handles will be $23; or $35 if you need the base, handles and pattern. Krista will contact members who weren't present to see if they were interested and will then place the order. If you have any questions, contact Krista for information.

NOTE ALL ABOVE CHANGES ON OUR BLOG.

Our June project will be a UFO (UnFinished Objects) and we will be having our usual potluck dinner. Please remember to bring along your table settings.

Our Spring Weave will be with Becky Bechtel from Bright Expectations on June 13. The cost will be $90 or $75, depending on which basket you choose to weave. There will be an extra cost for multi wood bases. JoAnn will be the contact person for this weave.

Krista brought a bunch of upholstery trims for anyone who wanted any. Joann brought along some braided seagrass for us to finish our Antique Candy/Button Jar. We have such generous members in our guild!

We had many members who brought along their new creations. Those who brought baskets for Show and Tell were JoAnn, Sharon, Marty, Krista, and Karen. Thanks for sharing all those beautiful baskets!

Krista made a motion to adjourn with Karen seconding the motion.

Due to Dawn's absence, minutes were taken by Marty. Special shout out of thanks to Marty!
