March 6, 2020 Meeting Minutes

Dawn called the March meeting to order at 6:00.
There were eight members present.
After a correction was made, the February minutes were approved.

DUE TO THE CONVID-19 VIRUS, APRIL'S MEETING IS CANCELLED. WE ARE NOT CERTAIN WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS. PLEASE CHECK THE BLOG AND YOUR EMAIL PERIODICALLY TO SEE MEETING CHANGES. THE BELOW MINUTES WERE TAKEN BEFORE THE APRIL MEETING CANCELLATION; THEREFORE DISREGARD THE DATES UNTIL FUTURE NOTICE TBD (To Be Determined). STAY SAFE!

CANCELLED - In old business, the April basket will be the Gretchen Border applied to a cut and tucked round basket. We are to bring #2 or #3 round reed and a sponge to keep the reed damp while we weave so the weavers won't break. This is NOT a basket that allows a new weaver to be added. A good length to bring would be 60" pieces of Round Reed, that will give you approximately 10 rows of the border. The formula for how much reed to cut is: 3" per row multiplied by 2 because the Round Reed gets hair-pinned around the spokes. JoAnn and Ann will be leading.

TBD - May will be the Split Stitch Basket led by Krista. It needs a 10" round base. All supplies and patterns have been ordered.

TBD - June will be our Pot Luck and UFO. Bring along a basket that you need to finish. Remember to bring along a place setting for the meal.

TBD - Our Spring Weave will be with Becky Bechtel (I misspelled her name last month) from Bright Expectations on June 13. The cost will be $90 or $75 depending on which basket you chose to weave. There will be an extra cost for multi wood bases. Contact JoAnn for information. Bring your checks by the May meeting.

A motion was made by JoAnn to adjourn and seconded by Sharon.

Minutes taken by Marty.

One further note: If you have any questions please contact Denise, our guild president.
BE SAFE EVERYONE!
