June 4, 2020 Meeting Minutes

Denise called the June meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
There were seven members virtually connected.

AUGUST 1st SPRING WEAVE
Becky Bechtel from Bright Expectations will teach on August 1st at the church from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $90 for the Claire, and/or $70 for the Liberty. If you cannot make the August 1st weave and you ordered the kits, you are still obligated to pay for your kits through JoAnn. Please be considerate and contact JoAnn for more information. JoAnn will request that Becky brings a variety of patterns to purchase.
We will have two guests and they will pay $25 each to attend.

September 3 - Ann & JoAnn will teach us how to rim the Gretchen Border/Rim on a basic round basket that's 6-7" tall. Please bring a cut and tucked round basket. Also, bring #2 or #3 round reed and a sponge to keep the reed damp while weaving so the weavers don't break. This is NOT a basket that allows new weavers to be added. A good length to bring would be 60" pieces of Round Reed, that will give you approximately 10 rows of the border.

Annual dues of $25 will be due at this meeting. If we do not physically meet in September, mail your dues by October to Ann Zabel. If you are not going to rejoin, please let her know.

October 1 - Split Stitch Basket led by Krista. The 10" bases, leather handles, and patterns are in, please get in touch with Krista for picking up soon as not to delay payment any longer. Contact her on her landline to make arrangements.

October 24, Saturday Weave @ the church from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - SELF TEACH - Potluck/order pizza - Dawn and Geri will be making the Sock Basket, pattern and pictures attached if interested. You can bring anything to weave. It will be a fun day that we can physically learn from one another.

November 5 - Boot Basket - Marty

December 3 - Potluck - Peggy will teach how to make leather handles, braided ones! More information to come regarding supplies.

May & June - Square to Round Twilled Basket led by Patti. The basket is unique measuring 15" x 12" and the pattern is from wendygjensenbaskets.com. We are planning on two meets for getting this one finished with June being a potluck.
Patti will show this basket at our November meeting.

January, February, March, and April are open for ideas.

When you are furnishing patterns, please add two, one for our minutes book and one for our library.

A motion was made by Krista to adjourn and seconded by Patti @ 6:40 p.m.
