Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

Measure First, Post Second....

I should learn to keep my mouth shut. From the big box of 3/8" reed left from the Northwoods Bushel Basket I was positive there was enough reed for each of us to have just 12 spokes for Sara's basket in September. I was wrong.

After counting out "kits" of 12 spokes @24", I discovered there are only "14 kits". So if you have some 3/8" flat at home, please bring it in September. At the meeting we can decide how to divide it up, Maybe we each can take 6 spokes???

So, for September you will need
3/8" flat
#2 round reed, natural and dyed
1/4 flat oval
3/8" flat oval

and

$15 for dues
$3.50 for a 6" slotted wood base for October's project

If you have not already done so, don't forget to weave a simple basket to donate to Messiah Lutheran Church. We donate the baskets in October.
