The treasurers report a was given by Judy, standing in for Patti. The guild paid Shirley Moore $150.00 for teaching the Nantucket baskets. We took a vote and decided to purchase a set of molds for the use of our guild members. The cost of the molds were $30.00, $25.00, $20.00, and $30.00 for the stand. This left us with $189.45 in the account.
The secretary's report was approved as listed on the blog.
Old business: The subject of how our guild should respond to member's illnesses or deaths in their families. After discussion, Marty made a motion to send cards to member when there is a death in family but take up a collection for a gift if there is an illness of a member. Seconded by Sue.
New Business: Regarding the molds the guild purchased, Judy made a motion to have a free will offering for the use of the molds for a month at a time, with a sign out sheet to be made. Seconded by Barb E.
There were numerous baskets on display for Show and Tell. Maybe some might become guild projects!
For the October basket being led by Ann, the cost of the base and handle is $8.50. Please contact her if you weren't at the meeting but want to weave the basket. She will supply a materials list that will be sent to the members by e-mail and posted on the blog.
A reminder that the Church's Chili Dinner will be October 10. Donations of money or goods should be brought to the October guild meeting.
