September 8, 2016 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order @ 6:08 p.m. by Krista, President.
The June minutes were approved without changes.
Roll call attendance was taken by Geri, Secretary.

OLD BUSINESS
We discussed more details of upcoming weaves. Ann shared pictures from Old World Wisconsin with our baskets. We want to learn more techniques & skills in the future. Members discussed using two meetings for weaving a basket that couldn’t possibly be done in one meeting, more discussion later.

UPCOMING MEETINGS
October 6:      Braided handle basket. Bring a basket that is almost finished. It should be cut & tucked, without the false rim, and a handle that can be wrapped with braids.

November 3:   Hearth Basket, led by Dawn. Pattern will be available at next meeting.

December 1:   Open – POTLUCK – Christmas Exchange/White Elephant

NEW BUSINESS
Annual dues are now due, $15 for the year [September 2016 – June 2017].

Judy Street donated two large binders of patterns from a former member. These will be added to the Guild library, which includes some free materials, and molds.

The all day Saturday weave will be October 29 at the church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. POTLUCK. We will be weaving a very large basket [pattern is being re-written with new name]. The pattern will be emailed to you before the October 29th weave. Please help us save time by printing off the pattern yourself. If you cannot, please let us know in advance.

We will be collecting donations at our next meeting [October 6] for the Church Ladies Guild. Please donate cash or a basket.

SHOW & TELL
See photos of the beautiful baskets that our talented members made over the summer. If I missed anyone in the notations, I apologize in advance. It was not intentional.

Meeting was adjourned by 6:30 p.m. For the remainder of the evening the guild worked on the Weed Basket. See the photos below:
