Weaving with Silver Creek

Silver Creek Basket Guild meets on the 1st Saturday of each month, unless it's a holiday weekend we meet on the 2nd Saturday. September through June at 9:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Annual dues are $25

The membership is open to experienced basket weavers
(who understand the terminology, and are able to independently weave a round and a square base).

September 6, 2018 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Krista, president @ 6:05 p.m.
Attendance was taken by Geri, seventeen members were present, including one new member, Susie, introduced by JoAnn. Welcome to our group Susie!

Denise collected the $25 annual dues. Those that have not paid, need to pay by our next meeting on October 4.

June minutes were approved.

By October 4, we would like to have the remainder of our year's weaves scheduled. We need January-June 2019 established. Please consider instructing one of those months.

Patti rewrote our By-Laws, which were presented and read by her. We all reviewed, made some changes, and we all will receive an updated copy via email.

October 4 meeting: Patti will show us how to weave a pine needle basket. She will furnish the pine needles and straws. You will need to bring a large-eyed darning needle. Rafia will be furnished by JoAnn and Patti.

FALL WEAVE: Saturday, October 6 all-day weave. 9:30 a.m. POTLUCK.
Guests with knowledge of weaving may participate, but must pay an additional $10 or join the Guild for $25. Both the Mockingbird Nantucket Bell and Mockingbird Business Card Basket will be taught by Mark Henderson. Mark will furnish the spokes, mold, bell, cherrywood top and rim. You may choose either or both, each are $15. JoAnn will collect at the October meeting or the day of the weave.

November / December: Krista, Nesting Baskets.

Denise will fill-in as secretary for Geri while she's wintering in Florida from January through March 2019.

Motions were made to adjourn the meeting @ 6:50 p.m.

Many baskets were woven over the summer by our creative members and are shown below. Beautiful work ladies!!
