Old World Wisconsin will receive baskets
from Silver Creek Basket Guild

MAKING BASKETS at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, WI were, from left, Sharon J. of Princeton, Dawn W. of Princeton, Sue A. of Wild Rose, Ann Z. of Brandon, and Denise B. of Rosendale.
Dawn W. of Princeton was visiting Old World Wisconsin, Eagle, WI last summer when she had a revelation. She was sitting on a park bench and a lady was there with her basket, dressed in full, late 1800s garb depicting the frontier Wisconsin image the state museum projects.
A basket, mind you, will get Dawn’s attention. After all, she’s one of about 25 members of the Silver Creek Basket Guild, which meets the first Thursday of the month at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Dawn struck up a conversation with the woman and one thing lead to another. That was step one toward the Silver Creek Basket Guild’s first public service project.
